Commercial Bus Driver - CDL

CONTRACTOR - TOURING

Bluecoats is seeking to hire an independent contract driver from July 2nd to August 13th to drive the Bluecoats Drum & Bugle Corps staff coaches.

Candidates will have a valid CDL A or CDL B license with Passenger (“P”) endorsement. These drivers are available full-time from the start of the 2023 Bluecoats summer tour on July 2nd until the end of the season at the DCI World Championships, ending August 13th.

We’re particularly excited to hire a driver that has a love of drum corps and the Bluecoats, cannot wait to drive all night and sleep all day, and eat from our food truck! Four hot meals provided every day!

Compensation commensurate with experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Safely operate a Prevost Entertainer Coach (automatic), or a custom sleeper coach rig (manual)

  • Comfortable maintaining a nocturnal schedule, driving all night, sleeping during the day, then waking in time to travel to the Bluecoats’ show venue in the late-afternoon/evening.

  • Working comfortably with a team of 10+ drivers as well as the Bluecoats operations team.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Valid CDL A or CDL B license with Passenger (“P”) endorsement and with no suspensions or derogatory  marks

  • Submission of all required new hire documents to be maintained in your Bluecoats USDOT driver file.

  • Submit required new-hire drug test and authorize membership in the Bluecoats drug test consortium

  • Demonstrate understanding of driving schedule and particulars of a drum corps tour

  • Complete required background check and participant safety agreement.

TRAVEL, SCHEDULE & OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Contractor engagement is between July 2nd to August 13th.

  • Contractor will travel to Bluecoats programming at Bluecoats’ expense

  • Travel, food, and accommodations are provided for the length of the engagement

  • Compensation based on length of engagement

  • Contractor will be required to submit to standard Background Screening, accept the Participant Safety Agreement, provide proof of Covid-19 vaccination, and comply with all code of conduct and other applicable contractor policies
