2024 Diversity & Socioeconomic Impact Report
In July 2020, we promised to create an annual report on the demographic and socioeconomic impact of Bluecoats programs, the diversity of our team, and the progress of our initiatives to advance inclusion and equity within our organization. This is our fifth annual Diversity & Socioeconomic Impact Report.
The Bluecoats Will Tour California In 2026
The Bluecoats are heading to the Golden State this summer! Following the corps’ annual Spring Training and Opening Night Community Celebration at the University of Mount Union, the corps will head west, kicking off a twelve state national tour that begins in California.
The corps last visited the West Coast in 2009.
Following early-July stops in Southern California and the Bay Area, the corps will turn back east. Fans can expect the corps to stop on its way to Texas, before returning to a more typical schedule in the Southwest, East, and Midwest.
Bluecoats Take Home Silver!
With its 2025 production The Observer Effect, the Canton, OH corps won its tenth medal at the DCI World Championships in Indianapolis, IN. The competition marked the end of an 8,000 mile national tour featuring intense competition with the Boston Crusaders, who won their first-ever World Championship tonight.
During a year featuring such incredible drum corps, we extend our congratulations to DCI’s newest Champions, the Boston Crusaders! We also express our heartfelt gratitude to bronze medalists, the Santa Clara Vanguard, and all of the other incredible competitors in this year’s field.
JohnDavid Mayo Inducted Into 2025 Bluecoats Hall of Fame
We’re pleased to announce the newest inductee to the Bluecoats Hall of Fame: JohnDavid Mayo. Members of the Bluecoats Hall of Fame are individuals whose history of outstanding contributions and dedication is worthy of the highest level of recognition by the organization’s Board of Directors.
Meet the 2025 Bluecoats Fellows
The Bluecoats Fellowship is an honors program for early-career designers in the marching arts. It serves as an incubator that expands access to the world of marching band, color guard, and drum corps design. The program includes a paid residency at Bluecoats Spring Training & mentorship with the Bluecoats design team.

David Glasgow Elected As Director Emeritus With Lifetime Board Seat
At their annual meeting on Tuesday, the Bluecats Board of Directors unanimously elected the organization’s first full-time Director, David Glasgow, to a lifetime board seat He joins Ted Swaldo as the organization’s only two Directors Emeritus.
