The Bluecoats are proud to announce IN BLUE, a series of programs providing performing arts training and performance opportunities for students living in the organization’s home region of Northeast Ohio.
Executive Director David Glasgow is very excited about the Bluecoats’ newest venture. “While our drum corps has enjoyed international recognition and success over the years, we’d also like to work toward connecting with more music and performing arts students in our community. The new IN BLUE programs allow us to create specific opportunities for local students to benefit from what the Bluecoats have to offer.”
The first IN BLUE program is “Artistry IN BLUE,” an A Class Winter Color Guard led by Bluecoats board member and local color guard instructor David Stinson.
“Dave has a fine reputation within the community as an instructor and brings with him a wealth of experience as the director of Anthem Winter Guard,” said Glasgow. “We’re fortunate to have his leadership as we establish these new programs.”
Auditions for “Artistry IN BLUE” will take place on Sunday, September 26th, 2008 at the J. Babe Stearn Community Center in Canton, longtime home of the Bluecoats’ winter rehearsals. Students must live in Northeast Ohio to be eligible for membership.
While Artistry IN BLUE is the first IN BLUE program, stay tuned for additional announcements regarding IN BLUE programs in the coming months.
