George returns to the Bluecoats in 2010 for his fifth year as co-Brass Caption Head. George has been teaching in the drum corps activity since 1989, including stints with Magic of Orlando, Colts, Ventures and Golden Lancers, where he won two DCM Division III Championship titles.

George was the Director of Bands at Kiski Area High School From 1993 to 2004. During that time he directed the Symphonic Band, Jazz Ensembles and the Kiski Area Wind Ensemble. He was also the Director of the nationally acclaimed Kiski Area Marching Band from 1993 to 2004. During that time, the Band won several local and state contests. During his tenure as Director, the marching band also won the Bands of America Class AA Grand National Championship in 1994. In addition, the band won seven Bands of America Regional Championship titles. George was also selected to the Who’s Who Among American Teachers several times.

Receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and a Masters of Fine Arts degree in Trumpet Performance from The University of Akron, George has studied and performed master classes with such artists as Phil Smith, William Vacchiano, Mark Gould, Scott Johnston and David Hickman. George is a current member of the Keystone Winds and has recorded several CD’s on the Citadel Label with renowned composer and conductor Jack Stamp.
