Janelle Ewing
Brass Instructor

Janelle graduated from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor of Music degree, emphasis trombone, with a teaching certificate. With a love for the marching and pageantry activity, she moved down to Houston, Texas to be in an area on the cutting edge of music education. She taught there for seven years, earning division I ratings on the stage and on the field, and developed award-winning percussion and winterguard programs at Lamar Consolidated High School in Rosenberg, TX. She joined the Bluecoats brass staff in the winter of 2007 as the baritone tech. Having found an organization in the Bluecoats of educational integrity and a match to her ideals of music education in the pageantry world, she plans to be involved as long as possible. Her previous experience includes marching and teaching drum and bugle corps of all sizes and ability levels in addition to her band teaching duties.
